What's Next for the Green Bay Packers?

I don't know about you, but I'm still not over the Packers loss to the Giants this past Sunday. I didn't expect our 15-1 Green Bay Packers to finish their season before the Super Bowl, but I guess it's time to focus on the future. So, in thinking about the future, what's next for the Green Bay Packers? Let's take a look:

1) Goodbye Matt Flynn, Hello Nick Hill. Matt Flynn is a free agent and after his record-breaking performance this season, he can snag a starting position for a quarterback-hungry team. Seattle Seahawks? Minnesota Vikings? Time will tell. Without Flynn, the Packers will develop Graham Harrell as a backup. The Packers acquired arena football quarterback Nick Hill yesterday to add depth to their chart.

2) Personnel Changes. Offensive coordinator Joe Philbin has already accepted a position as head coach of the Miami Dolphins. I bet we will see some more personnel changes as the off season wears on.

3) Charles Woodson moved to full safety. With the obvious gapes in this year's Packers defensive line, Coach McCarthy has already mentioned that Charles Woodson will be moved to full safety next season. Let's hope this helps.

4) What will become of Donald Driver? Driver wants to stay a Packer, the fans want him to stay. I can't imagine a Packers roster without number 80. I think he'll stay put.

Sunday's Packers vs. Giants playoff game was a bitter disappointment for a team that boasted at 15-1 regular season record. It didn't look like the Packers were playing with all the dropped passes and such. It seems to me that the Packers do better when they are the underdogs. Better luck next season.

This Sunday, it's Packers vs. Giants for the NFC Divisional playoffs at Lambeau Field. The last Packers vs. Giants playoff game is still on everybody's minds and the Packers are looking to avenge that painful loss in 2008. Sunday's game will undoubtedly be a fight to the finish, with both teams looking strong. The Packers have dominated all season long while the Giants have found extra momentum at the end of the season. When the Packers played the Giants last month in New York, they barely defeated them by a field goal in the last seconds of the game. The Packers are coming off of a bye week and have home field advantage. There's nothing quite like the playoffs at Lambeau Field, so I have a feeling that the Packers will be able to win this game. Both Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning have Super Bowl wins under their belts, so neither of them are strangers to this sort of a playoff run. My prediction for this game is that the Packers will win this game, but not by a huge margin. What are your predictions for Sunday's game?

Green Bay Packers back-up quarterback Matt Flynn had quite the game this past Sunday against the Detroit Lions. Flynn set a franchise record by throwing for 6 touchdowns and throwing for 480 yards. After Flynn's record setting performance, the football world has been abuzz with Matt Flynn's next move. Where will Flynn go next season? Is Matt Flynn the next Aaron Rodgers or the next Matt Cassel?

Thinking back to Flynn's performance last season against the New England Patriots, I think that Matt Flynn will be the next Aaron Rodgers and not the next Matt Cassel. He's clearly got skills. Even Aaron Rodgers himself says that Matt Flynn will be a star quarterback in this league. Undoubtedly, quarterback hungry teams will be looking to secure Matt Flynn in this coming off-season. Teams such as the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Washington Redskins, and Seattle Seahawks might be looking to snag a quarterback of Flynn's stature.

For now, Flynn isn't really thinking about his future. Instead, he's looking forward to cheering on his team in the playoffs.

3 Bold Predictions for the 2011 Green Bay Packers Season Revisited

It's the end of 2011 and I'd like to take this opportunity to reflect on the 2011 Packers season by revisiting the 3 Bold Predictions for the 2011 Green Bay Packers Season that I had made in early September. Here's what I had said I believed would happen this Packers season:

1) The Packers will take the NFC North.

2) The Packers will go 13-3.

3) The Packers will play in Super Bowl 46.

My first prediction was right--the Packers did in fact win the NFC North for the first time since 2007. Thankfully, my second prediction was wrong; the Packers will end the 2011 season with a better record than 13-3. They will either finish 15-1 or 14-2. I can't even remember the last time the Packers had such a stellar record. We will soon find out if my third prediction will come true. I like to think that the Packers will return to the Super Bowl this year. My guess is that they will host the New Orleans Saints for this year's NFC Championship at Lambeau Field. And if they win, a Packers vs. Patriots Super Bowl?

A Green Bay Packers perfect season seems within reach. Only three games remain in the regular Packers season. This weekend, the Packers travel to Kansas City to play the 5-8 Kansas City Chiefs. This seems to be an easy win for the Packers and if they win, they clinch home field advantage for the duration of the playoffs. Then, they have two remaining opponents whom they already defeated, the Bears and the Lions. 16-0 seems like an achievable goal. If the Packers have a perfect season, will they be able to have a perfect playoffs run? Win in the first round, win the NFC Championship at Lambeau Field, and win the Super Bowl? Anything is possible. One statistic I really like about this year's Green Bay Packers season is the fact that 18 different players have scored touchdowns, more than any other team. The Green Bay Packers have depth on their roster and I think they can pull off a perfect season without risking the health of their star players.

Should the Green Bay Packers Focus on Being Undefeated or Staying Healthy for the Playoffs?

As it stands, the Green Bay Packers are NFC North Division champions and ranked number one in the NFC. In order to remain the number one seed in the NFC, the Packers will have to stay ahead of the second place San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are two games behind the Packers at this point. Does staying on top mean that the Green Bay Packers should also focus on being undefeated? Will an undefeated record come at the expense of players' health? Quarterback Aaron Rodgers needs to stay healthy as the Packers prepare for the playoffs, so does that mean resting him during the last game of the season at the risk of losing the game? The Packers seem to downplay their undefeated record and say that each week they focus at the task at hand, winning the game. They don't think about record as much, but who wouldn't a perfect season? I'm a little nervous for the Packers vs. Giants game this weekend in New York. Not because I don't think the Packers have the ability to knock the socks off of the Giants, but because Sunday's game is do-or-die for the Giants. They've already suffered two losses on national TV at the hands of the New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles. If they don't win, they can pretty much kiss their playoffs hopes good-bye. The Giants have been known to pull through when the going gets tough, but this is the Packers we're talking about! Undefeated! Last year, the Packers beat the Giants at the end of the season, thus dashing the Giants playoffs hopes. If the Packers win on Sunday, they will clinch the NFC North division! I don't want to get ahead of myself, but if the Packers can beat the Giants, I think they have a good chance of going 16-0 this season.

Packers at Detroit on Thanksgiving Day | Will They Head Home Undefeated?

I remember the last time that the Packers played at Detroit. It was a blustery day here in Wisconsin, and our beloved Packers lost the game and Aaron Rodgers for two weeks. It was early in the contest, and Rodgers was scrambling out of the pocket for a first down. A Detroit linebackder smacked Rodgers hard from behind. It was not pretty. Rodgers got back up (or at least he tried to get up,) and probably saw birds flying around in circles above his head like those old time cartoons. He took one more snap before team doctors realized that he didn't really know what day it was.

Here we are coming off a short week of practice, and the Lions are a much better team than they were last season. Their defense has amassed just shy of 30 quarterback sacks, and that means there is danger coming from every angle. If Ndamukong Suh doesn't get you, Vanden Bosch or Avril just may get home. McCarthy will be wise to draw up a quick passing game, and feed the Lions defense a good helping of screens and short slants. It was also good news to read that Starks might play today.

As for the Packers secondary, Calvin Johnson is sure to score on Turkey Day. Keeping him to one touchdown would be a good thing. He loves to tear up Green Bay's backfield, and our loved, but aged number 21 will most certainly be assigned to him most of the day. Expect a couple of pass interference calls on Green Bay, if only to keep him from putting up six.

Packers at Ford Field Keys to Victory

If we want positives, it looks like Green Bay has been picking off opposing quarterbacks roughly twice per game. If those come early and result in Packers points, the Lions could get rattled and take more risks. The Packers seem to love the indoors, and warmth of Ford Field will surely help our speedy receivers. More open wide outs, means more options for Rodgers, not that he's been focusing on any single receiver this season. I look at this game like I did the Super Bowl. It's going to be fast and scary. The question that everyone seems to be asking these days is will the Green Bay Packers go 16-0? If they win next this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they will be 10-0. Soon, we will be talking Packers playoffs scenarios. In looking at the 2011 Packers schedule, it appears that the Packers have already defeated the teams perceived to be their biggest threats. They beat the Saints, the Bears, the Falcons, and the Chargers. Looking at the remaining 7 games, it doesn't look like the Packers have many big threats. Obviously you never know what could happen on any given Sunday, but the Packers not only look good, they look confident. Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers is famously cool under pressure and the team is cohesive. I'm not really nervous about any of the remaining teams on the schedule. Sure, the Packers have not faced this season's Detroit Lions, but the Lions lost badly to the Bears, a team the Packers easily defeated. Should the Packers go 16-0, I'm more interested in the what will happen in the playoffs. There are several key teams in the league that the Packers have not played. Specifically, the San Francisco 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers are one game behind the Packers and should the Packers lose a game, the 49ers record could determine whether or not the Packers have home field advantage in the playoffs. I guess only time will tell what will happen to our Green Bay Packers.

Jermichael Finley wants to be a Green Bay Packer for life. He said so himself. Finley is on the final year of his contract with the Green Bay Packers and will become a free agent in the off-season. However, the Green Bay Packers tight end wants to be re-signed before his contract ends, just like teammates Jordy Nelson and Josh Sitton recently were. Finley is a versatile player which would make him the number one option on many other teams' rosters. However, Finley's heart is set on staying in Green Bay forever. He loves the team and he loves the city of Green Bay. I say, keep Jermichael Finley a Green Bay Packer for life! Both the city of Green Bay and the publicly owned team are unlike any place in the NFL and so it takes a special kind of player to thrive there. Jermichael Finley is one such player. Aside from making plays on the field, Finley is very active in the Green Bay community. A team does well when its players are excited about being there and so keeping Jermichael Finley where he wants to be seems like a wise choice. Re-sign him already, Green Bay Packers!

After a win this weekend in Chicago, the Green Bay Packers have improved their record to 3-0. This makes the Green Bay Packers one of three teams with a 3-0 record. After a weekend of crazy times in the NFL, only three teams remain undefeated. Besides the Packers, the Buffalo Bills and the Detroit Lions also have 3-0 records. Speaking of the Detroit Lions, they are tied for first place in the NFC North with the Packers. Would you ever imagine that the Detroit Lions would be at the top of the NFC North division with the Packers? I certainly never did. We'll see what happens this weekend after the Packers host the Denver Broncos at Lambeau Field. I predict an easy win. After this weekend, I think we'll see the Packers at 4-0.

Packers Free Safety Nick Collins Out For Rest of Season

It was painful to watch Packers free safety Nick Collins sustain a head injury during yesterday's Packers game at Carolina. Now, the worst has been confirmed--Collins is out for the rest of the Packers season. Collins spent the night in a North Carolina hospital after getting hit in the head and carried off of the field in a stretcher. He did give the crowd a wave as he was carried off the field. Although, he was cleared to return home today, obviously the injury was more serious than it first appeared. I'm sad to hear Collins will be missing the rest of the season because not only is he a great player, but he hasn't missed a game since 2007. With Collins gone, Charlie Peprah will start in his place.

3 Bold Predictions for the 2011 Green Bay Packers Season

I know it's only been one week of football and that anything can happen on any given Sunday, but I have a good feeling about the 2011 Green Bay Packers season. They began the season with a bang, defeating the New Orleans Saints, 42-34 . How 'bout that Randall Cobb? Nice kickoff return for a touchdown. That play conjured images of Desmond Howard circa 1996. I like what I'm seeing and thus I am going to offer 3 bold predictions for the 2011 Green Bay Packers season:

Prediction #1: The Packers will take the NFC North. It won't be easy with this year as the Detroit Lions have the best roster they've had in a long time. The Bears started off the season by blowing out last year's #1 team in the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons. The Vikings narrowly lost to the San Diego Chargers who've been picked to be the team this year. It will be a close race, but the Packers will come out on top.

Prediction #2: The Packers will finish the season with a 13-3 record. The Packers have knocked out the team that I would have picked to be the toughest team to beat this year, the Saints. In all honesty, I think the Packers could go 16-0, but I don't really like those kinds of odds. You never know what can happen, as witnessed last season when we lost to the Lions in Detroit on December 12th, so I could see the Packers suffering from a few unexpected losses. A few.

Prediction #3: The Packers will play in Super Bowl 46. The Packers are back, healthy, and thirsty for another Super Bowl title. Think about all of those injured players with talent that didn't have the chance to play in the Super Bowl. They want that title again. They will go all the way.

Get ready because the Green Bay Packers 2011 home opener is just around the corner! On Thursday, September 8th, the Green Bay Packers host the New Orleans Saints at Lambeau Field. This day will be more special than other home openers in the past because the Packers are the reigning Super Bowl champs. As Super Bowl champions, the Green Bay has the honor of hosting the first game of the NFL season and an awesome pregame party! This year's game day party will feature live entertainment and a slew of other events. It hasn't been announced yet who exactly will be preforming at the pregame party, but you can expect a big name! Although I'm not a Green Bay Packers season ticket holder, I like to think I know a thing or two about Green Bay Packers tickets. A question that I hear a lot is, "What is the difference between the green package and the gold package?" Some of you may not have ever heard those terms used in regards to Packers tickets. Others of you might notice on your Green Bay Packers schedule that a few of the games are denoted as gold package games. I'm going to answer your questions for once and for all and tell you the difference between the green package and the gold package. Remember back to when the Green Bay Packers played their home games at both Lambeau Field and County Stadium? Fans could buy season tickets to either the Lambeau Field games or the County Stadium games. The Packers played one preseason game and two regular season games at County Stadium, the rest were played at Lambeau Field. In the mid-1990s, the Packers decided to play all of their home games at Lambeau Field. To keep the County Stadium ticket holders happy, they were still given tickets for one preseason game and two regular season games. Those tickets are known as the gold package. The remaining games are for Lambeau Field ticket holders, known as the green package. Another way to think of it is that the gold package is for Milwaukee season ticket holders and the green package is for Green Bay ticket holders. The NFL lockout is over! Hooray! This is great news for all Packers fans because now we can rest assured that there will be a 2011 Packers season. Let's see if our Packers can claim a second Super Bowl victory! Speaking of the Super Bowl, don't the Packers have a White House visit to take? The NFL lockout put a damper on some of their celebrations, but now that it is over, the Packers should be able to visit the White House as all champion teams have the chance to do. This is what I've been saying all along, but ESPN has made it official by naming the Green Bay Packers the best franchise in sports. After looking at several determining factors and polling thousands of fans, ESPN decided that our Green Bay Packers are the best franchise in sports. Categories such as stadium experience and number of championships won factored into the final decision. It's nice to see the Green Bay Packers get this kind of recognition, especially since the Green Bay Packers are a publicly owned team. The Green Bay Packers had a great end to the 2010 football season, here's hoping that the 2011 football season will end the same way.

Like I've said many times before, I firmly believe that the Green Bay packers 2011 season will go off without a hitch. There's too much at stake for the NFL for there not to be a season. That being said, I'd like to proceed as if there was no NFL lockout. I've been spending a little bit of time analyzing the Green Bay Packers 2011 schedule, and I would like to give you a little preview of what I think will be the most important games for the Green Bay Packers in their 2011 season.

Green Bay Packers 2011 Season Preview: The Top 5 Most Important Games

Week 1: Packers vs. New Orleans. This game marks the season opener of the NFL 2011 season. The Green Bay Packers are fresh off their Super Bowl win and a lot of people will be looking at this game to see if the Packers can will be serious contenders for another Super Bowl win. Obviously a lot can (and will) happen between Week 1 and Week 17, but this game will set the tone for how people perceive the Packers. Plus, the game features the previous year's Super Bowl winners, the New Orelans Saints. The Saints were ousted in the first round of this years playoffs by the Seattle Seahawks in what was a huge upset. Surely, they will be back with a vengeance this year.
Week 3: Packers at Chicago Bears. The Bears were in first place in the NFC North for the entire 2010 season, until the Green Bay Packers beat them in the NFC Championship and moved on to the Super Bowl. We know about the historic rivalry, we know how much the two teams want to defeat one another. The Bears will obviously be looking to avenge their NFC Championship loss.
Week 5: Packers at Atlanta Falcons. Remember the last time the Packers played in Atlanta? Oh right that was the second round of the playoffs and the Packers beat the tar out of the number one ranked team in the NFC. Falcons fans were so disappointed that by the end of the game, mostly just Packers fans were left. If the Falcons play as well as they did last year, this will certainly be an exciting game.
Week 9: Packers at San Diego Chargers. It's been awhile since the Packers have played the Chargers, but the Chargers consistently make it to the NFL playoffs. This will be a good showing of two very strong teams.
Week 13: Packers at New York Giants. I still feel the sting of the Packers vs. New York vs. Giants NFC Championship at Lambeau Field in 2008 when the Packers lost in overtime. The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl. This past season, the Giants were eliminated from making it to the playoffs, although they had an identical record to the Packers. They were upset about it and will undoubtedly be looking for a better showing this season.

I'll admit, I couldn't tell you where the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame is located. I know I've walked by it numerous times while at Lambeau Field, but I could not give you directions on how to find the Packers Hall of Fame and I am an excellent giver of directions. This very dilemma is exactly why the Green Bay Packers want to move the Packers Hall of Fame--to give it more visibility. As you may know, the Packers organization is looking to renovate Lambeau Field. As a part of these renovations, the Packers are looking to move Curly's Pub and the Packers Pro Shop and replacing that area with the Packers Hall of Fame. I think that is an excellent idea because it would allow for a bigger Hall of Fame and that part of Lambeau Field provides more visibility to the general public. What do you think? After being engraved with the final score by Tiffany's & Co., the Lombardi Trophy went back to its rightful home in Green Bay. Fans who want to see the trophy for themselves can catch a glimpse of the trophy between May 5th and May 9th at the Packers Hall of Fame. After May 9th, the trophy hits the road with the Packers fan tour. Speaking of Super Bowl hardware, the Green Bay Packers can finally get their Super Bowl rings now that the lockout has been lifted. The Green Bay Packers 2011 Season Schedule has been announced! Now, all we need is the lock out to end. As predicted, the Green Bay Packers will play the season opener on Thursday, September 8th at Lambeau Field against last year's Super Bowl champs, the New Orleans Saints. The Green Bay Packers will play on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. What a festive schedule. In addition, the Packers will play four games in prime time. Today, a contingent of the Green Bay Packers threw out the first pitch at the Milwaukee Brewers home opener. I love it when Wisconsin sports teams come out and support one another. The Green Bay Packers players were very excited about the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at Miller Park and rightfully so! It's a great honor to be asked to throw out the first pitch on opening day at Miller Park, but then again, it's also a great honor to be a reigning Super Bowl champ. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers couldn't make the game due to a scheduling conflict, but I think we can expect to see him at Miller Park this season. After all, he and Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun are best buds.

The Green Bay Packers are still waiting for their Super Bowl rings. Due to the NFL lockout, players and coaches are not allowed to be in contact. Because of this fact, the Green Bay Packers have not received their Super Bowl rings. Quelle horreur! One of the best parts about winning the Super Bowl (besides the Lombardi Trophy) is the bling! Another perk of winning the Super Bowl, that the Green Bay Packers have not enjoyed, is a personal invitation from the White House to hang with the president of the United States. Lastly, Coach McCarthy's quarterback camp will not take place this month, as planned, because of the lockout. Let's just hope this debacle gets resolved soon. Our Green Bay Packers need their rings, a visit to the White House, and ample time to prepare for Super Bowl 46.

Due to the nature of the lockout, players do not have access to their training facilities and cannot contact their coaches. Remember how great he was as the starting quarterback against the New England Patriots? After that game, Flynn's had a 100.2 passer rating. Matt Flynn could easily get a starting job with another team, but Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy is adamant about keeping with the Packers. His reasoning? If you're going to stay a number one team, you're going to need the best backup possible. Remember when Aaron Rodgers suffered two concussions? To replace Aaron Rodgers, you're going to need someone playing at a high level to fill in his shoes. Enter Matt Flynn.

Although the Super Bowl was a little over two weeks ago, I am still riding the high of the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl victory. Now that the victory has settled in a little bit, I'd like to review my Green Bay Packers 2010 Top Five Moments. Incidentally, I'd like to note that I had predicted a Green Bay Packers Super Bowl trip and their victory in Dallas was truly a dream come true.

Green Bay Packers 2010 Top Five Moments

Winning Super Bowl 45. The Green Bay Packers were 8-6 heading into the Week 15 of the regular season. They knew what they had to do to make it to the Super Bowl: win, win, win, win, and win again.
Avenging Week 3's loss to the Chicago Bears by beating them when it mattered most: Week 16 and the NFC Championship at Soldier Field. I'll admit it, I was depressed after the Green Bay Packers narrowly lost to the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Monday Night Football in Week 3. I'll also admit that I thought the Chicago Bears were overrated all season long. I was elated to see the Packers beat the Chicago Bears in Week 16 to secure the wild card spot. It was also ironic that the Packers and Bears would have to meet once again, this time for all the marbles. The Packers came out victorious and on the Bears' home turf to boot.
The entire play-offs run. The Packers were seeded 6th and they were also the most-feared team in the play-offs. After they beat the Eagles, I was nervous about them facing the Falcons. After all, the Falcons ranked number one in the NFC. To watch the Green Bay Packers rip apart the Falcons was incredible--the opposite of what I was expecting. It is relaxing when you watch your team cruise through a must-win game. Finally, the Green Bay Packers eliminated their longtime rival for the NFC Championship title and a trip to Super Bowl 45. My other favorite part about the play-offs was that it was a true team effort. Unsung heroes emerged from each game.
Defeating the Vikings for once and for all. The Packers beat the Vikings at Lambeau 28-24 and again at the Metrodome, 31-3. The ghost of Favre is gone forever. Roll out the barrel! The Green Bay Packers have settled comfortably into the Aaron Rodgers era.
The Belt. Aaron Rodgers' belt celebration has been embraced by fans worldwide. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, look it up! I love doing the belt after I accomplish something important. Thanks, Aaron Rodgers.

Honorable mention: Getting two coaches fired. Of course the Green Bay Packers themselves were not responsible in two coaches losing their jobs, but after defeated the Minnesota Vikings (again) and the Dallas Cowboys, the two teams subsequently fired the head coaches.

Of course, there were other great moments of the Green Bay Packers 2010, but not all of them can make the list.

Super Bowl Champs Come Back To Lambeau Field

I think that the Super Bowl Champs did all the Packers fans a great service by braving the cold and thanking everyone for their support. The Packers are now the Super Bowl Champions, and I couldn't be more excited.

Hats off to Jordy Nelson, for keeping the team in the game when it looked bleak. Kudos to Donald Driver and Charles Woodson for inspiring the team to keep fighting, when it looked like the Steelers were going to take the lead. Cheers to Aaron Rodgers, who can finally tell all those Brett Favre fans to kiss his Super Bowl winning butt. It went by in a flash, but the game was won by our Green Bay Packers. Let's hope for two in a row.

The Packers have left the building! As we speak, the Green Bay Packers are en route to Super Bowl XLV. They are scheduled to arrive in Dallas around 3:30 this afternoon and according to Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, they are trying to keep their week in Dallas as normal as possible. They will have a similar training schedule as if they were in Green Bay preparing for a game. Players will have strict curfews in the evening as they prepare to bring home the Lombardi Trophy. This is going to be such an exciting game! Is it Sunday yet?

The Green Bay Packers claimed the NFC Championship title and are now heading to Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium. After defeating the Chicago Bears 21-14 at Soldier Field in Chicago, the Green Bay Packers became NFC Champions. This will be the first time in NFL history that a number six seed has made it to the Super Bowl. It was a joyous evening in Green Bay as thousands of fans waited at the local airport to give the Green Bay Packers a hero's welcome upon returning from Chicago. Now Green Bay Packers fans have their eyes on Dallas, where the Green Bay Packers will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV (that's forty-five for those of you who aren't so savvy with the Roman numerals). My favorite moment of the game, besides Aaron Rodgers' touchdown, was B.J. Raji's interception and then touchdown. I love seeing a huge linebacker run in for a touchdown. Raji had said earlier that he had always wanted to score a touchdown and I can't think of a better time than in the NFC Championship. I couldn't be happier for the Green Bay Packers and earlier in the season, I wrote about the Green Bay Packers reaching Super Bowl XLV. So glad my prediction came true!

It's a Packers vs. Bears NFC Championship! I'm still hoping to get Packers NFC Championship tickets because I do not want to miss out on the chance to witness a piece of Packers history with my own eyes. Who would have thought that the Green Bay Packers' road to the Super Bowl would go through Chicago? As we all know, the Packers/Bears rivalry is the oldest rivalry in the history of the NFL. Sunday afternoon's NFC Championship game at Soldier Field will be nothing short of epic. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have never met in a playoff game during the Super Bowl era. In fact, they have not faced-off in a post-season game since 1941. Undoubtedly, each team wants to beat their oldest rival for once and for all for a) a trip to the Super Bowl and b) unlimited bragging rights. I am so excited for Sunday's game. I took a few minutes to put together a few NFC stats for you numbers fans. I already knew that a 14 point margin in a playoff game is hard to overcome, and these numbers pretty much prove it.

The average point difference between winner and loser is 14.9
The winning team averaged just over 29 points per game
The largest margin of victory is 46 points (1986 Giants over 49rs)
There have been only four overtime games, with one going to double overtime in 2003

The Packers face the toughest test of the season this Saturday night. I would have said that playing at New England this season would top that, but Rodgers was on the bench. To say that I'm excited about this game is an understatement.

The Green Bay Packers have landed the 6th seed in the NFC Playoffs by defeating the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field 10-3. A win is a win and boy am I glad the Green Bay Packers pulled off the win to grab the 6th seed. Sunday's game was pretty much a nail biter, but the Packers secured the win when Aaron Rodgers connected with Greg Jennings on a 46 yard pass that put Jennings at the 1 yard line. Rodgers then threw to Donald Lee who scored the only touchdown of the game. Sunday's win means that the Green Bay Packers are heading to Philadelphia to play the Eagles. The Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles game will start at 4:30 Eastern Time on Sunday, January 8th. Should the Packers win Sunday's game, they would go on to play the Number 1 seed, the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have secured the home field advantage for the entire playoffs. The winner of the New Orleans Saints/Seattles Seahawks game will go on to play the Chicago Bears in Chicago the following weekend. The only way for the Green Bay Packers to face the Chicago Bears again would be in an NFC Championship game. Go Packers!

Since the New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons last night, the Green Bay Packers can only nab the sixth seed in the NFC playoffs. The Packers, the New York Giants, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers all have a 9-6 and are all looking to grab the 6th seed, but the Green Bay Packers hold the advantage over both teams. All the Green Bay Packers need to do earn the 6th seed is to beat the Chicago Bears! Should the Packers lose that game, they need the Giants and Buccaneers to lose their respective games, too. If Eagles win this weekend and the Packers win, the Bears and Packers would play in the first round of the playoffs in Chicago. On the other hand, if the Eagles lose tonight and/or Sunday, the Bears will nab the number 2 seed and the Packers would play the Eagles in the first round. It seems likely that the Bears and Packers will meet again in the first round of the playoffs. I don't foresee the Bears beating the Packers at Lambeau this weekend. Go Packers! Win and you are in!

I was starting to get a little nervous. That's not to say that Matt Flynn, the Green Bay Packers back-up quarterback, did not do an outstanding job against the New England Patriots. However, I was beginning to wonder if Aaron Rodgers would make it back at all. Thankfully, he has been cleared by doctors and has been taking most of the practice snaps. That's what I like to hear. Rodgers took a severe hit to the head in the second quarter, when he chose not slide after an 18 yard run with the ball. After being pulled from the game, Green Bay Packers back-up quarterback Matt Flynn took over and played for the remainder of the game. However, Flynn also made a risky play, diving head first and almost knocking into John Kuhn. If Flynn had been injured on the play, who would have been the back-up for the back-up quarterback? Apparently, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson would be the Packers emergency quarterback. Nelson had been ready to go if Flynn had been injured. Aaron Rodgers' status for Sunday's game in New England is unknown, so quarterback Graham Harrell will probably be activated off the practice squad.

The win wasn't the most spectacular win in the world, but alas the Green Bay Packers emerged victorious. The Minnesota Vikings have a long record of winning at the Metrodome and the conditions inside are less than ideal for the visiting team. The noise generated by fans in the Metrodome is louder than at any other stadium and it can be difficult for visiting teams to make their plays. Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said he is trying to simulate the conditions of the Metrodome in the Don Hutson Center this week at practice by blasting loud noise. The Green Bay Packers need this win to stay competitive with the Chicago Bears, who defeated the Minnesota Vikings last weekend at Soldier Field. Ok, I know this is a Green Bay Packers blog, but I could not resist the temptation to include the fact that after Green Bay's destruction of the Dallas Cowboys last night, the Cowboys fired head coach Wade Phillips. Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Green Bay Packers game against the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field. After a tailgate at Brett Favre's Steakhouse, I made my way over to Lambeau Field and watched four quarters of fantastic Green Bay football. The offense looked like they finally found their rhythm and the Green Bay Packers defense was on fire. How about that Nick Collins touchdown? How about that Clay Matthews touchdown? That man is a beast and already MVP rumors are floating around about him. I also love it when the Green Bay Packers put in back-up quarterback Matt Flynn because it means the Packers are doing insanely well. There's nothing like watching a Green Bay Packers win at Lambeau Field. This weekend is Green Bay's bye week and the following weekend they will travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings again.

The Green Bay Packers shut out the New York Jets this past Sunday at The Meadowlands, 9-0. This game was the first shut out of the 2010 NFL season and the first time the New York Jets have been shut out since 2006. Neither team scored a touchdown; instead Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby scored all the points of the game with his three field goals. Both teams' offensive lines looked sloppy, but at least the Green Bay Packers' defense was able to hold off the New York Jets' offense. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' passer rating after Sunday's game was only 59.7, the third lowest rating in his 40 career starts. Like I've said many times before, a Green Bay Packers win is still a win and even though this past Sunday's was not the prettiest of wins, at least the Green Bay Packers came out victorious! Let's hope the Green Bay Packers have an even prettier win this Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

Green Bay Packers Defeat Minnesota Vikings 28-24 | Game Recap from an Eyewitness

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday night, 28-24. Just to type that sentence brings me great joy. I had the pleasure of attending Sunday night's game and I have the laryngitis to prove it. It seemed as though the stars were aligned that evening...the predicted rain never came and it was a whopping 64 degrees at Lambeau Field on a late October evening. The atmosphere was electric and I knew the Green Bay Packers had to win. I did not drive 2.5 hours to watch my boys lose. To experience the full glory of Lambeau Field, I arrived to my seats early enough to watch the Green Bay Packers do their calisthenics. From the moment the Vikings quarterback Brett Favre took to the field, until the moment he left, the crowd booed his every throw. As a former Favre-lover, I found myself booing and hissing while he played. The crowd's energy seemed to have a negative effect on him; mission accomplished!

Best moment of the game: Clay Matthews pulled Brett Favre down by his jersey, practically ripped the thing off. It was great to see Favre go down by the NFL sack king himself.

Best play that never happened: Matt Flynn's stealth touchdown pass. The announcer announced that Mason Crosby would attempt a 52 yard field goal. The ball was snapped to Matt Flynn who then threw it to the corner of the end zone where it just missed a receiver. Nobody seemed to know that Crosby was not going to kick.

Best Favre moment of the game: (Tie) 1) Favre was so mad after a botched play that he ripped up the grass at the 50 yard line where the Green Bay G is painted. 2) Favre's last play of the game when he slipped, then threw away the ball with less than a minute left in the game. Throwing the ball away resulted in no touchdown, thus securing a Green Bay Packer win!

Best Favre pick of the game: #55 intercepted Favre and returned for a touchdown. Screamed at the top of my lungs in this moment!

Best call of the game: Tie between the reverse touchdown call against the Minnesota Vikings (the receiver had stepped out of bounds) and the reversal call against a Randy Moss reception which put the Minnesota Vikings further away from the end zone.

WTF moments:
1) Donald Driver didn't get a catch, thus ending his ridiculously long catching streak. Aaron Rodgers later said he felt bad about it.

I just hope Aaron Rodgers doesn't suffer from any more illegal hits that go virtually unnoticed by the referees. Speaking of injury, Jermichael Finley is the latest Green Bay Packer to be placed on the injured reserve list. On a positive note, Clay Matthews, who sat out last weekend's game, will be back for this Sunday's game. I hope the Green Bay Packers destroy the Minnesota Vikings and that the game does not have to go into overtime. The Green Bay Packers have been having difficulty closing out close games, as witnessed against the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Redskins. As we know, Atari Bigby and Al Harris have been out for the season and are not expected to return for a few more weeks. If that's not bad enough, 7 more key Green Bay Packers suffered injuries during Sunday's game. Early on in the game, Jermichael Finley injured his knee and was removed from the game. Finley will most likely be out for a bit. The former starter, Atari Bigby, still has two weeks before he can be eligible to play again. Another alternative would be to start Charlie Peprah, who has filled in at safety before. However, Peprah has been out of the past two games due to a thigh injury. Over the next couple weeks, the Green Bay Packers will have to figure out who will be the starting safety in Burnett's absence. Poor Burnett. He was really making good progress.

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Buffalo Bills 34-7 this past Sunday at Lambeau Field and I had the pleasure of watching the game from the corner end zone section of Lambeau Field. Every football fan should see a game at Lambeau Field. It is such an incredible experience that I kept having to pinch myself to prove I wasn't in a dream. What the Green Bay Packers fans say is true; there is not a bad seat in the house of Lambeau Field. I had never sat at this vantage point before and it was fun to watch Aaron Rodgers throw touchdown passes head on. Too bad he didn't Lambeau Leap into my section. Maybe next time. During the drive to Lambeau Field, my friends and I took bets as to what we thought the final score would be. I said 37-14, my sister guessed 24-0, our other friend had no answer, but the fourth member of our group almost guessed the score exactly: 34-9. If only the Buffalo Bills had scored a safety, we would have been buying him beers for the evening. Thank goodness that didn't happen.

Already, oustide linebacker Clay Matthews has made six sacks this season! Some players only make six sacks all season long. At this rate, Clay Matthews could make 48 sacks this season. That sounds a little far-fetched, but the NFL record for single-season sacks is 22.6. That's more like it! Looks like Clay Matthews has a great chance of breaking the NFL record for single-season sacks. Guess I'll have to go to more games at Lambeau Field and see for myself.

Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant suffered a season ending injury in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles this past Sunday. Grant suffered the injury just before halftime after rushing for 18 yards. He found himself at the bottom of a pileup and limped off to the sidelines. Grant injured his right ankle and leg and is now on the injured reserve list.

This is not the kind of news I was hoping to hear about running back Ryan Grant. This was supposed to be a big year for Grant as he has rushed for more than 1200 yards each season for the past two seasons. It will be interesting to see who will become the starting lineup. Brandon Jackson replaced Grant for the remainder of Sunday's game. He seems like a likely choice.

In the face of disappointment, I always like to look on the bright side. At least the Green Bay Packers defeated the Philadelphia Eagles! At least the Green Bay Packers ended their 121,313,131 year losing streak at Philadelphia. Ok so the NFL hasn't even been around that long (and neither have modern day human beings), but the point is the Green Bay Packers hadn't won a game in Philadelphia for a very long time.

I'll scan the stats after every Vikings game just to see how he did, but before that I will always look at Aaron Rodger's numbers. Last Saturday, Rodgers had a quarterback rating that was nearly perfect. He has led the Green Bay Packers on numerous touchdown drives in this 2010 preseason. Favre threw one pass, got slammed to the ground by Patrick Willis, and was promptly pulled from the game.

Yes, this is preseason. None of what Aaron Rodgers does on the field before he faces the Philadelphia Eagles will matter. What would worry me if I were a Vikings fan, is how fast is this 40 year old quarterback semi-holdout, who didn't spend one minute in training camp? Has he lost another step during the off season? Can he take the punishment of 16 games, all before any shot at a post season run? Will he have one of those seasons where he just lofts the ball up for anyone to grab? Yes, Aaron Rodgers holds the ball too long, but I don't see that guy playing a game of 500 with the football. The Green Bay Packers need to concentrate on getting their defense to show up. Rodgers looks ready. Favre threw one pass so far. The rest is a complete guess.

It seems like the defensive line has several kinks to work out before the regular season, but we can all rest assured that Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is in top form and he already appears to be playing at a mid-season level. Another disappointing sight during the first preseason game was running back Ryan Grant's game-ending concussion. Thankfully, Ryan Grant has been cleared by doctors to return to practice. Phew! Flynn is no stranger to playing second fiddle to the starting quarterback; at LSU he waited for three seasons before he could start at quarterback. The year Flynn started for LSU, his team one the BCS National Championship and Flynn went on to be named offensive most valuable player for his team.

What a guy! I love his positive attitude and feel good about Matt Flynn as quarterback, in the off chance that Aaron Rodgers has to leave the game. It can't be easy to be the backup quarterback for a star starting quarterback such as Aaron Rodgers, but Flynn seems more than okay with his role. Hopefully, we won't have to see Flynn play, but I think he is prepared should he be put in the game.

The Green Bay Packers have $13 million in their Capital Improvement Fund; money that can be used only for stadium improvements. This money comes from an old fee that was assessed to season ticket holders. According to the Green Bay Packers, the south end zone is only area in the stadium where seats could be added.

Lambeau Field currently seats just over 71,000 people. The Green Bay Packer season ticket waiting list is over 81,000 people long. Chad Clifton, James Jones, Nick Collins, John Kuhn, and Packers president Mark Murphy are all a part of the Green Bay Packers tailgate tour which raises money for local charities and gives fans the opportunity to mingle with some of their favorite Green Bay Packers players, tailgate style. This sounds great. I would love to get an autograph from any of these players while eating a bratwurst doused in mustard. I'll be sure to get my tickets to the tailgate!

A Look at the Green Bay Packers 2010 Draft

The shining star for the Green Bay Packers at this past weekend's 2010 NFL Draft was Bryan Bulaga, the 21 year old offensive tackle from the University of Iowa. Ranked in the top four of offensive tackles for this year's draft, Green Bay Packers president Ted Thompson could not believe Bulaga was still available by the 23rd pick. This past season, Bulaga allowed only two sacks. Hallelujah! That must be music to Aaron Rodger's ears!

In the third round of the draft, the Green Bay Packers picked up Georgia Tech safety Morgan Burnett, who is being lauded as Atari Bigby's replacement. In order to acquire Morgan, the Green Bay Packers traded up with Philadelphia.

The Green Bay Packers also drafted Michael Neal (2nd round), a defensive lineman from Purdue who would play defensive end for the Packers; Penn State tight end Andrew Quarless (5th round) who says he will fit in "just swell" in Green Bay; Texas Christian University offensive lineman Michael Newhouse (5th round), who would play tackle or left guard for the Green BayPackers; Buffalo runningback James Stark (6th round), who missed his 2009 season due to a shoulder injury; and East Carolina defensive end C.J. Wilson (7th round), whom Ted Thompson described as "a very fired-up human being."

From the looks of it, the Green Bay Packers could have the missing ingredients needed to make it to the 2011 Super Bowl. Super Bowl or bust!

I guess we’ll have to wait until Week 2 to see our 2010 Green Bay Packers play at Lambeau Field and don’t factor the Green Bay Packers into your Thanksgiving Day plans. I was looking forward to a Packers Thanksgiving this year, but I guess you can’t always get what you want. The second half of the 2010 Green Bay Packers schedule looks like it could be tough and depending how the season goes, the last game of the season against the Chicago Bears could have some serious NFC North playoff implications. The Oct. 3rd game against the Detroit Lions and the Nov. 7th game against the Dallas Cowboys will be the two gold package games this year. In case you've forgotten what a gold package is, you can refresh your memory here. In any event, the release of the 2010 Green Bay Packers schedule has made me more excited for the upcoming 2010 Green Bay Packers season! Go Pack Go! Is it August yet?

Green Bay Packers Look to Improve Offensive Line in the 2010 Draft

With the upcoming 2010 NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers will undoubtedly be looking to improve their offensive line. The Green Bay Packers might be looking for an offensive tackle, an outside linebacker, maybe even a safety, perhaps a running back? It is not quite clear what exactly the Packers where the Packers will add players, but we know the offensive line could use some help. Remember all those Aaron Rodgers sacks? Also, a little birdie told me that the Packers are pursuing Eagles running back Brian Westwood. Interesting. Hopefully he can stay healthy. What would this mean for Ryan Grant? It'll be interesting to see what the 2010 NFL draft has in store for the Green Bay Packers.

Last week, the Green Bay Packer preseason schedule was announced and it looks like the Green Bay Packers will play Super Bowl runner up the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field. Could this be a predictor of next year's Super Bowl? After losing to the New Orleans Saints in the Super Bowl, the Colts are looking to avenge their loss. After losing in overtime in the wild round of the playoffs, the Green Bay Packers are looking to go all the way in 2010. I would love to see a Packers/Colts Super Bowl next season. Here's hoping!

The other day my friend told me that he would take me to a Green Bay Packer game at Lambeau Field this season as his family holds Green Bay Packers season tickets and has for years. I was excited to say the least. The possibilities! I suggested we go to the home opener, but he replied, “Sorry to burst your bubble, but we can’t. I’m a gold package season ticket holder.”

“A gold package?” I asked. “Is that like premium seating or something?”

“No, silly. The gold package is for all the former County Stadium ticket holders,” he said.

Right, the Green Bay Packers used to play at Milwaukee County Stadium back in the day. When Lambeau Field became the permanent home of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee County Stadium ticket holders became "gold package" ticket holders. Gold package ticket holders now receive tickets for two home games and one preseason game. Green Bay ticket holders, or “green package” ticket holders, have tickets to all other games.

What can be tricky is if a gold package game is on a Monday night game because all of the fans have to get back to Milwaukee, which can make for a long night. If you've ever driven from Green Bay to Milwaukee after a game, you know what I mean.

I read a letter that a Packers fan wrote to the Milwaukee Journal this past week. He was lamenting over the fact that some people were complaining about the price of Green Bay Packers tickets.

He has been on the Packer season ticket waiting list for almost twenty years. He was stating in his letter that if the season ticket holders had any complaints about the price of tickets, then they should give up their seats to those who are waiting for their crack at them. I don't think that people are compelled to give up their season tickets if there is an increase in price by 15%. Either way, the waiting list just keeps getting longer and longer. That's what happens when you are trying to obtain Green Bay Packers tickets. You wait and wait and wait.

Even as Brett Favre has moved on, the demand is high. Of course, Vikings tickets are now in higher demand. As long as Brett plays for Minnesota, they will most surely sell out their home games. That's a rarity. Minnesota has quite a number of options for sports entertainment. The Vikings are just trying their best to stand out in a crowded market.

The Green Bay Packers have extended the contracts of free agents Ryan Pickett and Nick Collins for four more years. The announcement was made during last weekend's Fan Fest. In fact, Collins signed his new contract minutes after modeling the team's new throwback jersey. Both Pickett and Collins are extremely excited about remaining in Green Bay. They love the organization; Pickett says he wants to retire a Green Bay Packer and Collins says his heart has always been in Green Bay. This is great news! Great to have returning players who love Green Bay.

Meanwhile, at a community college across the country, Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was honored as an Outstanding Alumni along with three others at the Butte College Spring 2010 Gala. Rodgers began his football career playing for Butte College in California. Hats off to Aaron Rodgers!

All this Green Bay Packers talk makes me want the season to start! This year I think I'm going to get some Green Bay Packers tickets to an away game. I'm thinking New England. Might as well make a vacation out of it!

Green Bay Packers Unveil New Throwback Jersey

The Green Bay Packers will add a third jersey to the players' uniforms! The Green Bay Packers new jersey design was unveiled today at the Green Bay Packers' Fan Fest. This new retro jersey is a throwback to the team's 1929 design, the same year the Packers won their first world championship. The Green Bay Packers will wear this jersey during a couple of their games this season according to Packers president, Mark Murphy. In contrast to their green jerseys, this new retro jersey is navy blue with gold numbers and letters.

These jerseys kind of remind me of the throwback jerseys of other teams. I saw the New York Jets wearing a similar colored uniform last season. I kind of like these jerseys even though they are not green. It will be interesting to see our boys sporting different colors. Do you think they'll wear the throwback helmets with the chin straps?

I turn my head for one moment and the next thing I know, my favorite outside linebacker, Aaron Kampman is now a Jacksonville Jaguar?! What the...? I can’t believe my ears. Apparently Kampman wanted more money than Green Bay could give him and when you’re a free agent, that’s the name of the game. Kampman finished off the season on the injured list and for that reason the Packers don’t quite trust funneling all that money into keeping Kampman.

What does this mean for the Green Bay Packers? I guess you'll have to get Packers tickets for next season and find out for yourself.

The Green Bay Packers have released punter Jeremy Kapinos in hopes of acquiring a higher ranked punter. That shouldn’t be too difficult as Kapinos had pretty low rankings in the league. Kapinos is upset about the Packers' decision and feels he’s being blamed for the demise of special teams. He shouldn't be held responsible for the special teams' poor showing in 2009.

Green Bay Packers Put a Franchise Tag on Nose Tackle Ryan Pickett

Today the Green Bay Packers put a franchise tag on Ryan Pickett, offering him a one year contract for roughly $7 million. Ted Thompson said he is looking forward to continuing on with Pickett who is in his 4th season with the Packers, 9th in the NFL.

I'm glad to see Pickett return to Lambeau Field. My favorite Pickett play was back in 2007 during the Monday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos. Pickett’s tackle of Bronco QB Jay Cutler at the 4 yard line in the last seconds of the 4th quarters forced the Broncos to kick a field goal. The field goal caused the Broncos to tie with the Packers, sending the game into overtime. Packers won the coin toss, Favre threw a magical pass to Greg Jennings and the Packers won. All thanks to Ryan Pickett.

Green Bay Packer Mason Crosby Needs to Make More Field Goals in 2010 Season, Packers Playoffs and Super Bowl

We all know about Mason Crosby’s missed field goals situation this past season. Green Bay Packer’s kicker Mason Crosby missed important field goals that shouldn’t have been a problem to make this past season. These missed kicks cost the Packers several important games, most notably the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It seemed like the Packers had that one, but the Steelers won in the last second. Crosby received a lot of flak from critics for his missed kicks and sometimes they were justified. McCarthy stood by Crosby and in the final game of the season against Seattle, Crosby restored confidence by making a kick after which the entire team ran out on the field to cheer for him!

Since his rookie year, Crosby is 54 for 70. The Packers don’t have a back up kicker so Crosby is pretty much their only hope. I think the Packers should secure another kicker and make Crosby compete for the job. I’m a big Crosby fan, but if he continues to miss these easy field goals, the Packers Lambeau Field playoffs and Super Bowl chances will diminish. I just want what's best for my Green Bay Packers!

Although the Green Bay Packers have long retired Number 15, step into any Kohl’s Department store or athletic retail store and you will find Bart Starr’s Number 15 jersey on sale. Since Bart Starr was well before my time, so I always thought he was famous for being Rawhide Boy’s Ranch spokesman. Little did I know he was one of the greatest players ever to play with Green Bay Packers and ranked among the top 100 football players of all time. A true living legend! Besides having his number retired for the Packers, Bart Starr won the first two Super Bowls and was named MVP of both of those Super Bowls. Each year, The Bart Starr Award is given each year to an NFL player with outstanding character. Will the Green Bay Packers ever have another player as accomplished as Bart Starr? Speaking of the Super Bowl, the 2010 Green Bay Packers are favored to make the Super Bowl next year. We can only hope that is true.

Although the exact schedule has yet to be released to the public, the Green Bay Packers have announced the opponents they will meet in their 2010 season. At Lambeau Field, the Packers will host the Bears, the Lions, the Vikings, Cowboys, Giants, 49ers, Bills, and Dolphins. On the road, the Packers will face the Bears, the Lions, the Vikings, the Eagles, the Redskins, the Falcons, the Patriots, and the Jets. That looks like a pretty exciting lineup to me. I’ve always wanted to see the Packers play on the road, perhaps this will be the year to travel to a game! Lambeau Field ticket prices are also scheduled to rise in the 2010 season.

Although the NFC lost to the AFC in the Pro Bowl, Green Bay Packer Aaron Rodgers truly showed that he has what it takes to be an elite quarterback in the NFL! Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, completed 15 of 19 passes, and threw for 197 before his departure in the second quarter when the score was tied 17-17. Rodgers also so graciously shared his “Pro Bowl Diary” with fans where he expressed his thoughts on his first Pro Bowl appearance.

In light of Drew Brees's team playing in the Super Bowl and Brett Favre’s injury and old age, Aaron Rodgers will start at quarterback for the NFC Team in this weekend’s Pro Bowl. Now I have a reason to actually watch the Pro Bowl! I applaud the NFL’s decision to move the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl. This switch means fans will actually watch the Pro Bowl. By the time the Super Bowl comes and goes, I think football fans are pretty much ready to hang up their jerseys and move on.

Undoubtedly Aaron Rodgers would rather start in the Super Bowl and not the Pro Bowl, but this accomplishment is not too shabby for a second year starter. Rodgers has obviously proved himself to be one of the top quarterbacks in the NFC. Can’t wait for next year's opener at Lambeau Field!

Our Green Bay Packers season ended with an Aaron Rodgers fumble. When America's team (The Green Bay Packers) was down by 17 points, I turned away. I could not watch the car crash. I turned back and stuck it out, even when Green Bay went down by 21. Even the most adoring Aaron Rodgers fan must have thought that the game was over by quarter two.

Then, slowly, Aaron Rodgers started to shred the Cardinals defense, just like Kurt Warner did to our Packers in the first half. Back and forth the gunslingers fired bullets, scored touchdowns, and made amazing pass plays. Packers and Cardinals go to overtime, and I miss the coin toss. Oh my, we win the toss, and I think that this game is going to be over, and in favor of our Packers. Third down and five. A blind flash of red is all Rodgers saw before being stripped of the ball, and before millions of viewers saw a hand grab at his face mask. No matter, no flag. If the flags didn't fly when Rodgers took a blow to the head in the third quarter, this ticky-tack grab of his mask would go unnoticed for sure. The Cardinals linebacker picks up the ball, runs, scores. Season over.

What's the bright spot? The Pro Bowl features three Green Bay Packers, and Woodson earns the Sporting News defensive player of the year award.

Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks embodied what I like most about being a Green Bay Packer fan: watching the team play at their best. Mason Crosby, who had been missing key goal made a 52 yard field goal to the excitement of his teammates who visibly celebrated his accomplishment on the sideline. Aaron Rodgers played incredible football, becoming the only player in the NFL to throw for over 4,000 yards in each of his first two seasons as starter. There were interceptions in the end zone and Matt Flynn played an entire quarter. The Packers 48-10 win over the Seahawks solidified their spot in the playoffs and to celebrate they doused Mike McCarthy in the team’s water. Best of all, this all happened at Lambeau Field. After the game, Donald Driver did a victory lap, thanking fans for their support.

If the regular season ended today, the Packers would have the fifth seed. This would mean a game against the Arizona Cardinals, who currently have the fourth seed. In the first round of the playoffs, the first two seeds have a bye week. Then, the third seed plays the sixth seed and the fourth seed plays the sixth seed. The only way the Packers will move down to the sixth seed is if the Eagles lose to the Cowboys this weekend. The Eagles have a better record than the Packers so they would nab the fifth seed. Dreaming of a Vikings VS Packers football game? You might get your wish if the Vikings lose to the Giants, our Packers lose to the Cardinals, and the Eagles defeat the Cowboys.

The Packers will play their last regular season this Sunday in Arizona against the Cardinals. While the outcome of this game does not directly affect the Packers playoff seed, the Packers will no doubt play a great game. With only three games remaining in the Packer’s regular season, the inevitable question on everyone’s minds is “will the Green Bay Packers make it to the playoffs?” To the fans, the situation looks very promising. With their current 9-4 record, the Packers would have the top wild card seed; this record puts them one win ahead of Dallas and two wins ahead of the Giants. Since the Packers already defeated the Cowboys in the regular season, they would get the top seed over them should they finish with the same record. On top of it all, the Packers are coming off of a five game winning streak as they enter into week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seems like a shoe-in.

When you ask Coach Mike McCarthy, he says not so fast. During his December 14th Press Conference, Mike McCarthy paints a different play-offs picture, saying the Packers “don't have any breathing room right now. We're focused on the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have given us plenty to think about and prepare for throughout the week”

McCarthy reminds us that nothing at this point is guaranteed for the playoffs: “There are a lot of things that happen in the last three weeks of the season. The scenarios will change; they always do. Everybody is fighting to get in and that's the type of game we are preparing for this week.” The Packers are not focusing on the playoffs just yet, instead as McCarthy said, “Truly, we're focused on getting to 10 wins.”

The Packers are hoping to secure their 10th win this weekend at Pittsburgh, birthplace of Mike McCarthy. Now I don’t want to be eating my words later, but if I were you, I’d start reserving my Green Bay Packers Playoff tickets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reeling. They lost to one of the worst teams in the NFL. Prior to that, they were beaten up by the Baltimore Ravens in a slug fest that may have contributed to the loss to the Raiders. Would the Lambeau Field history and home field advantage helped the Raiders found themselves on the losing end of the game, had the Packers faced them instead of the Steelers?

Even Mike Tomlin has started to question his team's ability to win games. He mentioned something about being mediocre. Ouch. Green Bay VS Pittsburgh may bring a win to those who love the Packers, but the sleeping giant that is the Steelers may awaken in time to crush the Packers. We will see in due time. Meanwhile, the victory against the Ravens was ugly. So many flags, so many penalties, just enough touchdowns to keep the Ravens at bay. If you look at it, the turnovers were what gave the Ravens any hope of coming back. Our Packer's defense was pulling down interceptions left and right.

The Green Bay Packers will travel to Arizona for their final game of the 2009 regular season. If the 7-4 Packers continue playing as well as they have recently, this game could have serious playoff implications for them. The Packers have a shot at securing a wild card seed. Currently, the Packers are seeded sixth, though their record is tied with 5^th seed Philadelphia which would make them the last team in the playoffs. However, both the 7th and 8^th ranked Giants and the Falcons are close behind the Packers with 6-5 records. This is going to be a close playoffs race.

The Arizona Cardinals currently lead their division with a 7-4 record. If Arizona has clinched their division by the time the Packers play them, they might be resting some of their top players during this game. Stay tuned for Packers VS Cardinals. Results to follow.

On Sunday December 13^th, the Packers will face their oldest rival, the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field. Currently the Bears are 4-6, fresh off a lost against the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20. This weekend the Bears will face off against NFC rivals, the Minnesota Vikings. This weekend, the Bears will face the highest ranked team in the NFC North, the Minnesota Vikings. The following weekend they will play the St Louis. Rams, who have only won one game against the Detroit Lions.

Our Green Bay Packers are 7-4, fresh off three straight wins against the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, and Detroit Lions. Hopefully they can keep up their winning streak against the Baltimore Ravens next Monday night at Lambeau field.

I'm not too concerned about the Packers/Bears match up. Already, the Packers have already defeated the Bears in the season opener. During that game, the Bears’ quarterback Brian Urlacher suffered a season ending injury. Some people say that his replacement, Jay Cutler, has seen better days. The Packers have stepped up their game and look like serious contenders for the wildcard spot.

Al Harris and Aaron Kampman are out for the remainder of the season. Both plays that brought them down seemed to be nothing extrordinary. Kampman went down on his own. Al Harris was covering a man that was not involved the play.

Perhaps that was part of the reason that the 49rs came roaring back in the last quarter. The Packers pulled out a win, and if ever we needed to face a lesser team, it would be coming off a game like Sunday's. The Green Bay packers face the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. It's just four short days off after the win at Lambeau Field.

When purchasing Green Bay Packer Tickets, the question is inevitably where to sit? Should I try for a seat in the Lambeau Leap zone? Should I find a seat out of the sun? Should I get an outdoor club seat? Or an indoor club seat? What's the difference between the two anyway?

Outdoor Club seats are located behind the 100 level bench seats on the east side of the stadium. Spanning from section 403-435, these seats are about ten rows deep per section and feature comfortable chairs with seat backs and cup holders. Waitress service is available and patrons have access to the Stadium Club area to get food and drinks. These seats are completely outdoors, with no protection from weather unless you decide to go inside to the Stadium Club area. Indoor Club seats are on the North end of the stadium, above the 300 level seats. Like skyboxes, indoor club seats are completely indoors, but indoor club seats are designed for use of individual patrons while skyboxes are sold as a complete unit. Indoor club seats are in sections 470-492 and sections 670-692 Since indoor club seats are completely indoors, patrons are protected from the weather. In cold weather, patrons can control the heat and in warmer weather they can use the air conditioning. Waitress service is available and so is access to the Stadium Club area. Also available are TV monitors so you can see play by plays and replays of the game from your seats. As always, you can't go wrong wherever you purchase your Green Bay Packer ticket. There isn't a bad seat in the house.

The Green Bay Packers will travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers for their second to last game of the season on December 20^th. Last year’s Super Bowl champions, the Steelers are currently 6-2 and tied for first place in the AFC North with the Cleveland Bengals.

The last meeting between the Packers and Steelers was in the 2007 preseason when the Packers beat the Steelers 13-9. Before that, the two teams faced each other in 2005 when the Steelers defeated the Packers 20-10.

Both the Packers and Steelers have a rich history in the Super Bowl. The Packers hold the all time record of most won Super Bowls in the NFL. Winning 12 championship titles, the Packers are the only team to have won three straight titles and they did it twice. In comparison, the Steelers have played in seven super bowls and won six of them, including four in six years

Who knows what the Packers’ record will be by the time they face the Steelers. I like to keep a positive attitude and believe the Packers could have a fighting chance for the playoffs. What do you think?
